Betista mirror: when the address will not open
A mirror is a copy of a site at a different address. Operators use them for various reasons, and so do scammers. This page explains why an address may stop opening, what that can mean and — the key point for the cashier — how to avoid entering payment details on a fake site.
Why access may be blocked
- Blocking ordered by an authority — in several countries, internet providers block gambling sites without a local licence. A block of this kind says something about the operator's legal status in that country.
- Domain change — the operator may move address and announce the new one on its site or by email to customers.
- Technical problems — maintenance, server failure, a local DNS issue.
Before looking for a mirror, ask which of these applies. If the block comes from an authority, getting round it does not change the operator's status, and the player has less protection in a dispute.
The risks of unofficial mirrors
Addresses shared on forums, social media or messages are prime phishing ground. A fake site can copy the original perfectly and exist to harvest credentials, card details or authentication codes. Fake «cashiers» also ask for deposits by transfer to third-party accounts. Money sent that way never reaches the operator and is rarely recoverable.
How to check an address
- Use only addresses announced by the operator itself, on the site you already knew or in emails from your account.
- Check the domain spelling letter by letter — fake addresses swap or add a character.
- Confirm the connection is encrypted and the certificate matches the domain.
- Distrust any page asking for authentication codes or payments outside the usual cashier.
Protect your account and cashier
Turn on two-factor authentication if the operator offers it, and use a password you use nowhere else. Deposit only from the cashier, inside a session opened on the verified address. If you suspect you entered details on a fake site, change your password immediately, call your bank to block the card and alert the operator's support.
Access and pending withdrawals
If you have a pending withdrawal and lose access to the site, do not send documents or payments to contacts offering help. Contact the operator through the official channels you already had, such as your registered email. A request to pay to «unlock» a withdrawal is always a scam.
