Bet types: how each one settles

The type of bet decides two things: how much you can win, and how the bet settles when something goes off-script — a voided selection, a postponed match, a partial result. Knowing each type's rules avoids surprises in your balance.

Access to the sportsbook, its markets and promotions depends on your account and country. Check at Betista what is available to you.

Single

One selection, one price. The return is stake times odds. If the event is voided, the stake comes back. It is the easiest type to follow and the one that ties up your balance for the shortest time.

Accumulator

Several selections on one slip with odds multiplied together. All must win. If one selection is voided, it is usually removed and the accumulator continues with the rest at recalculated odds. Settlement only happens after the last event, so the stake stays tied up until then.

System bets

A system combines several smaller accumulators from the same selections — for example every possible double from three picks. You can win something even if one selection loses, at the cost of a larger total stake, since each combination is a separate bet.

Handicap and over/under

A handicap gives one side a virtual head start; over/under bets on a total such as goals or points. Half-point lines like 2.5 cannot push. Whole-number lines like 2.0 can return the stake if the total lands exactly on the line. Asian handicaps split the stake across two lines and can produce half-wins or half-losses.

In-play and cash out

On accumulators, cash out is priced on every selection still open, and it is usually where the cash out margin weighs most. An in-play bet is only accepted at the odds shown when you confirm; if they move, the slip asks you to confirm again. Cash out, where offered, is the book's proposal to close the bet early, margin included. Taking it settles the bet immediately and frees the amount in your balance — useful if you need liquidity, but on average it costs something compared with letting the bet run.

When winnings become available

In any of these markets, the winning only enters your balance after official settlement, and only then can it be withdrawn. If a betting bonus is active, wagering applies before withdrawal. The withdrawal stages are in the withdrawal guide.
